My six month old X-230s have developed an annoying habit of utting out, it sometimes happens when there's a sudden load noise in a game or music and it's unpredicatable when it will come back. Replugging the cable sometimes solves the issue but often just results in a couple of seconds, or shorter, of sound. The headphone socket never stops working.

I've read several posts on the subject and have tried blowing out the conector holes/pins with air but to no avail, so I suspect this is manufacturing fault.

Is there anything else I should check before returning them?

I should say that I didn't have a problem with them on my old XP computer but the problem developed sometime after I started using them on the new one.

Windows 7 Pro 64bit, Asus M4A78-T (BIOS AMi 1604 05/06.09),
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE, 2 X 2GB Crucial DDR3 PC3-10600,
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive,
Sapphire HD 5770,
HP dvd1160i DVD writer, Logitech X-230 speakers

Just to report that I seem to have solved the problem with the help of a heavy duty ESD (anti-static) bag. I opened it up, stapled it to a frame and used it to shield the bass unit from the computer. That was about six weeks ago and I haven't had any problems since.

Hope this helps.
