I have a tremor in my right hand that causes me problems using a regular mouse.  My fingers start to shake and it is almost imposible to hold the cursor steady of any area.  I do computer aided drafting, and was wondering if anyone new of software or a style of joy stick that would allow the joy stick to move the cursor and the buttons do the work of the right and left button of a regular mouse.  The shake is only in the fingers and gripping a joy stick to move the cursor would be easy to keep it in one place.

Did you try a trackball mouse? I have a similar problem, and use the Logitech Marble one one computer and a Marble FX on another one, and i must say the FX is a lot better (for me at least). Its a shame its not produced anymore :-(

thanks for the suggestion, I just bought one 2 months ago and it works good on my laptop, using the buttons on the touch pad with my left hand and the track ball with my right hand, I am able to work faster doing drafting.  I am not sure what the fx version is like, but this one has made my life a lot easier.  Thanks again.

I've just spent the last few hours searching for a way to use a joystick as a mouse.  I've seen the shareware drivers and such as well as the outrageously expensive "disability" models.  Any ideas why Logitech hasn't tried this market?  I'd think it would be great for gamers who don't want to disconnect their equipment, those with disabilities and KIDS (I'm looking for one for my 3 year old who does great on the games with the joystick but gets frustrated with the mouse and trackball).

I would highly recommend the multi-touch mouse which replaced Apple's Mighty Mouse late this year. We have a similar problem that's why,  my hands shake too that's why i find Mightly Mouse as convenient as the new wheel motor. You don't need to press or scroll to take the cursor to the direction you want.
