Cordless controller works then stops

I have a cordless logitech controller for my xbox and what it is doing now is, it will be usable for about a minute (the red led is blinking the entire time) and then the controller will just die and be unusable until I take out the batteries and then it will do it again. the batteries are new so it's not that. any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

The batteries might be new, but that doesn't remove the chance the batteries might be defective. I'd try a different and fresh pair of batteries.

I've tried 3 different sets that were all good. so i know thats not the problem is there anything else that I could try, like exactly what is the procedure on "connecting" the logitech controller to the plug in at the box?

To reconnect a controller:
Press the button on the receiver (The weird horseshoe crab shaped thingie) then press any face button (a,b,x,y) on the controller
You can also perform a receiver reset by holding down the connect button for 10 seconds, then pressing a face button on the controller

reconnecting doesn't seem to be working. what happens is when i put the batteries in and hit any button it will blink one time each second for aprox. 43 sec which is about 43 sec. then it turns off and i have to take out and put the batteries back in to do it all over again. reconnecting it didn't do anything. its wierd that it will work for a short period of time then cut out. any other ideas?
